MULTNOMAH COUNTY, Ore. (KOIN 6) — The Multnomah County Medical Examiner’s Office is working to determine the cause of death for a man found dead 50 yards east of the Oneonta Gorge tunnel Sunday morning.
Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the report from a passerby about a body seen along the side of the Historic Columbia River Highway around 8 a.m.
Authorities arrived and found the deceased man.
The Historic Columbia River Highway was closed in both directions for approximately two hours just east of the Oneonta tunnel while the investigation was conducted.
Police said preliminary information indicated that there were no signs of foul play.
The body was turned over to the Multnomah County Medical Examiner’s Office.
No additional information was available, pending identification and family notifications.
