Gang-related shooting hurts 1 in NE Portland

Authorities are looking for a suspect last seen running southbound on NE 13th Avenue

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — One person was found with multiple gunshot wounds at a residence in Northeast Portland Sunday evening.

North Precinct and Gang Enforcement Team officers responded to a residence in the 4000 block of Northeast 14th Avenue on the report of a shooting at 7:20 p.m.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and located a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a Portland hospital for treatment.

Police said preliminary information indicated that his injuries were not life-threatening.

Witnesses described hearing an argument followed by gunshots.

According to witnesses the suspect was last seen running southbound on NE 13th Avenue.

The suspect was described as an African American man, 16- to 20-years-old, who stands 5-feet-9 to 5-feet-10 with short hair. He was last seen wearing dark clothing.

Authorities said preliminary information indicated that the shooting was gang-related.
