2 die, 3 hurt as car lands in Molalla River

MOLALLA, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Two people died and three more were hurt when a vehicle left the road and landed upside down in the Molalla River.

There were five people inside when single-vehicle crashed happened just after 8 p.m. on S. Molalla Forest Road around milepost 7.5, the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said in a release.

The vehicle went about 100 feet down an embankment, killing the driver, Alexandra Alexandrova Samoilov, and passenger Marina Toran. Both women were 19.

Two other passengers were airlifted and a third was rushed by ambulance to a nearby hospital. Those three people were identified as Feudosii T Semerikov, 21, from Gervais;  Dennis Frolov, 22, of Atmor Alberta Canada, and Antip Alagoz, 20,from Plamondon Alberta Canada.

One passerby stopped to help before emergency responders arrived.

The rescue was hazardous because of the water and the steep embankment, authorities said.

The crash remains under investigation.
