CASTLE ROCK, Ore. (KOIN 6) — A 61-year-old man was airlifted after his daughter called to report he fell down in his driveway.

However, Cowlitz County deputies said in a release Kevin W. Lyon’s injuries are not consistent with a fall.

The call came in around 1:35 a.m., authorities said, and the Castle Rock Fire Department went to the house in the 200 block of Sandwood Drive. They found Lyon and began emergency help.

Deputies arrived and family members said Lyon’s son, Tyler Lyon, started a chainsaw to cut some brush after the family had gone to bed. The elder Lyon went out to talk with his 27-year-old son, authorities said.

Moments later, Tyler Lyon was calling for help. He told investigators his father had fallen.

But his injuries were not totally consistent with that explanation, deputies said in a release.

Kevin Lyon was first taken by ambulance to St. John Medical Center before being airlifted to Legacy Emanuel.

The investigation continues.
