ESTACADA, Ore. (KOIN 6) — A 12-year-old skateboarder suffered a serious head injury when he fell while riding on a road leading into Milo McIver State Park.
The boy fell around 2 p.m. and an OSP trooper on patrol provided the first emergency care. He was then airlifted to OHSU for treatment.
The trooper, from the Fish & Wildlife division, found out the boy and a girl were skateboarding down the hill as the boy’s aunt followed in a car. The kids were going too fast and fell, and neither was wearing a helmet, officials said.
The girl only suffered a minor injury.
