Suspect pulled out firearm when confronted by Target store security

SALEM, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Detectives in Salem are investigating a theft at a Target that turned dangerous when the suspect pulled out a firearm.

Police said around 1:40 p.m. on Monday, a man pulled a firearm when store security at the Target on Center Street confronted him.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 30s who is approximately 6-foot-3 and weighs 190 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a black shirt with red lettering on the front and a black backpack.

Authorities advised not to contact the suspect as he is believed to be armed and dangerous.

Detectives are asking anyone who may have seen the suspect or know the suspect to call the Marion County Sheriff’s Office at 503.588.5032.
