Tillamook offering $10,000 reward for safe recovery of their 3 mini buses

MANTECA, Calif. (KOIN 6) — Three iconic Tillamook microbuses plus a truck and trailer were stolen Saturday night while on a public relations tour in California.

The Oregon cheese company’s vehicles and trailer were stolen from the parking lot of the Hampton Inn located at 1461 Bass Pro Drive in Manteca, Calif., between the hours of 12:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m.

  • Wells Cargo Trailer, Oregon License plate number TF1144
  • 1964 VW Mini Bus, Oregon License plate number YUM4
  • 1966 VW Mini Bus, Oregon License plate number YUM5
  • 1959 VW Mini Bus, Oregon License plate number YUM6

All of the vehicles and trailers are custom painted orange with “Tillamook” in white along the sides. The cargo trailer has images of the mini buses displayed on the sides.

When the vehicles were stolen, the buses were inside of the trailer. The trailer was attached to the orange Ford F350, authorities said.

Around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, authorities said they located the Ford F350 and trailer abandoned and on fire in area of New Peoria Flat and O’Byrnes Ferry Road in Jamestown, Calif. However, the three mini buses remain missing.
