PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — No one was injured after a man driving a dark SUV fired shots in Southeast Portland’s Foster Powell neighborhood Saturday afternoon.

The shots fired were not gang-related, the Portland Police Bureau said in a statement.

Just before 1 p.m., a witness saw a white man in his forties and a woman arguing inside the vehicle, which had pulled up to a stop sign near the 6900 block of SE Rhone St, Portland Police said.

When that witness yelled for the couple to stop arguing, shots were fired and the SUV peeled away. It is unclear whether the shots were fired at the witness, inside the SUV, or not toward anyone at all.

It is “unknown if gun seen but shots definitely fired,” PPB Public Information Officer Pete Simpson said in an email statement.

Meanwhile, police are looking for the man — a white male in his forties with multiple tattoos — seen driving an older dark colored SUV, possibly a Chevy Suburban, with Washington license plates, black wheels, possible missing a rear window.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Portland Police Bureau.
