LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Two women from Portland were arrested in Lake Oswego in connection with what authorities said may be an organized retail theft operation.

Carmen Genevieve Young, 36, and Victoria Jean Brown, 48, face multiple theft and drug charges.

The investigation began when employees of Sur La Table said they saw the women steal items from the store, Lake Oswego police said.

When officers arrived, they found the women had stolen items worth more than $2000, authorities said.

The investigation continues into what may be a larger retail theft operation in the Portland metro area.

Young and Brown face second-degree theft and possession of meth, heroin and cocaine charges.
