Strip club murder suspect arrested in Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — A suspect in the murder of a man and the shooting of four others at a Southeast Portland strip club last weekend has been arrested.

Jontae Mixon, 27, was taken into custody around 10 p.m. Wednesday near NE 180th Street and Couch.

Mixon faces multiple counts of attempted murder and assault in addition to a murder charge and related gun charges.

The arrest was conducted by members of the US Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force, the Portland Police Bureau, the Gresham Police Department and the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting occurred in the early morning hours of July 5 outside Soobie’s Bar and Grill Strip Club.

Hahrahcio Roy Branch, 26, was killed. The other four victims were all taken to local hospitals. Emergency workers treated them for leg, head and eye injuries; all four are expected to survive.

Officers initially said the shooting was likely gang-related, though no mention was made of that possibility Thursday.
