COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Fifteen people were arrested over the past two days in connection with a string of burglaries in Columbia County.
Officers representing every agency in the county and the US Marshal’s Office made the arrests as part of a large crackdown.
Over the past two months, deputies said dozens of burglaries have occurred in the Saint Helens area.
Authorities said some of the suspects arrested Wednesday were wanted for other crimes.
A 19 minute pursuit on Thursday in the Rainier area led to the arrest of the fifteenth suspect.
Authorities said a sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a car observed to contain a person of interest related to the ongoing burglary spree investigation around 4:30 p.m. near Doan Road and Ferncrest Road.
The person of interest, Jeffery Allen, 28, also had a warrant for his arrest, police said.
The vehicle, driven by Shalisha Hill, 27, did not immediately yield to the deputy, leading the deputy on a pursuit that ended when the vehicle was driven into a fence post just off of the roadway.
Investigators said one suspect is still outstanding.
