SALEM, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Who knew a snake named “Nomad” could be so hard to find.

The weeks-long search for a 10-foot boa constrictor reported missing from a Salem neighborhood June 26 came to an end Wednesday, according to Marion County Sheriff’s Office officials.

Officials say the 23-year-old female red tail boa was found inside a hole in the sheet rock of the home. Initially, the snake’s owners were concerned she had slithered out a second-floor window.

The owners assured the sheriff’s office that they purchased an upgraded snake cage, officials said Wednesday.
