CLACKAMAS, Ore. (KOIN 6) –Two separate sightings, about an hour apart, has residents in a Happy Valley neighborhood staying inside.

The cougar was first spotted by contractor Justin Simms, who was doing work for a client in the area of SE 132nd and Ridgecrest in Clackamas County. He called 911 immediately, but authorities could not find the cougar.

About an hour later, a cougar was spotted near an elementary school not far from the first location.

Just before 5:30 p.m., authorities lifted all of the lockdowns in the area. The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said Happy Valley deputies will continue to keep an eye out for the cougar while on patrol.
