MARION COUNTY, Ore. (KOIN 6) — The Marion County Sheriff’s Office responded to a second drowning in just two days on Tuesday.
Around 5:45 p.m. deputies were called to Scotts Mills Park to assist with the investigation of a man who drowned and subsequently died at a popular swimming hole located on Butte Creek.
Deputies found that the male was swimming with a friend, began struggling against a current and drowned.
First responders performed CPR but were unable to resuscitate the man.
The man’s name was not released, pending family notification.
A 14-year-old boy drowned at the Three Pools Recreation area in Marion County on Monday.
