Squirrel to blame for outage, PGE says

Power restored to nearly 10,000 Washington County customers

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Nearly 10,000 people were without electricity in Washington County after a squirrel caused an outage, according to Portland General Electric.

More than 400 customers in Clackamas County and another 180 in Multnomah County were also listed as powerless as of 7 a.m., though Multnomah residents’ electricity was back by 8:50 a.m.

All power was restored by mid-morning.
