PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — You can’t get much colder than ice cold — and that’s exactly how kids at one Portland hospital handled Tuesday’s heat.
With temperatures climbing to as high as 99 degrees farenheit in the city of Portland Tuesday, patients at Legacy Emanuel Randall Children’s Hospital kept cool with songs, screenings and a special guest appearance from the popular Disney movie Frozen.
Patients Sequoia, 5, and Sienna, 3, gave the party a special rendition of the film’s headline track “Let it Go,” originally performed by Broadway superstar Idina Menzel.
The movie’s main character, Princess Elsa, also stopped in at RCH, in the form of nursing student Marissa.
“We all have things that are very hard for us,” she said. “But we’re all very special.”
With a staff of more than 600, RCH receives more than 100,000 patient visits per year. Its emergency room is Oregon’s biggest.
