PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Police arrested a man Thursday following claims he sexually assaulted a stranger in Southeast Portland.

Portland police say Michael Miranda abused a woman in Lents Park, located at SE 92nd and Holgate Boulevard, shortly before noon Thursday.

The woman, who quickly called 911, told officers she had met Miranda just prior to the assault. She also provided them with a description of Miranda and a cellphone photo of the 28-year-old taken before he ran out of the park.

Miranda was found nearby and booked into Multnomah County Jail on two counts of second-degree sex abuse, while his alleged victim was taken to a Portland hospital for treatment.

Miranda is set to be arraigned Friday. He’s being held on $10,000 bail.
