TIGARD, Ore. (KOIN 6) — A mother whose 6-year-old daughter tested positive for meth and currently on the run after being indicted her on drug charges was recently at a Seattle Mariners game.
A relative of Leslie Von Wald told KOIN 6 News the 44-year-old woman very recently posted a picture on Facebook from a Mariners game.
Her 6-year-old daughter is now in protective custody while Tigard police continue to search for Von Wald.
Tigard police told KOIN 6 News they also received a phone tip about a photo of Von Wald at Safeco Field on Facebook.
The Mariners were home on Tuesday but in San Diego on Wednesday.
After a six-month long investigation, Tigard police searched two mobile home-sites simultaneously around 6 a.m. April 18.
Two women were found and arrested in one of the mobile homes.
In the other police found Wald along with her 6-year-old daughter sleeping in a bedroom. In another bedroom, Wald’s 16-year-old son was found along with another male juvenile, who was later identified as a friend.
Sharon Faist, who lives in the neighborhood, told KOIN 6 News Von Wald seemed nice.
“She seemed to be a really nice lady, seemed to spend a lot of time working in her yard, fixing it up around her trailer and everything,” Faist said.
Faist is most upset about the children.
“Hearing about the daughter really bothers me,” she said. “I mean, that’s a child. A child is precious and should be protected.”
Police said Wald may be driving a white 1998 S70 Volvo with Oregon license plate WTV-025. She was last seen in Lincoln City on the Oregon coast, but police said they believe she is somewhere in SW Portland.
Anyone with information regarding the Wald’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Tigard Police Tip line at 503.718.2677.
