The latest incident at the Conga Nightclub on the corner of NE Alberta Street and NE Garfield Avenue was a shooting on Sunday.

Police said the shooting happened early Sunday morning. No one was hurt, but neighbors’ concerns were elevated.

Portland police said other than the shooting on Sunday, there was a stabbing at the club last year with arrests in the case made in January.

According to the Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC), there have been two car accidents involving intoxicated drivers associated with the Conga Nightclub as well.

Neighbors said they want to see more police patrols in the early morning hours near the club.

“My roommate actually did tell me that he heard two gunshots recently and that was in the middle of the day,” said Anthony Cacibauda, who lives near Conga Nightclub.

Those who live in the area said the violence has hurt the livability in their neighborhood.

The increased activity is occurring right across the street where Trader Joe’s wanted to build. Now, some wonder if the recent violence could turn away potential buyers.
