TROUTDALE, Ore. (KOIN 6) — The City of Troutdale released Wednesday the name of a man arrested outside Reynolds High School shortly after a teenage gunman killed a student and wounded a teacher.
During the chaos brought on by Tuesday morning’s deadly shooting, Joseff Powell, a 21-year-old from Gresham, was seen near the school and searched by officers. Powell was found to be illegally in possession of a handgun, according to police, leading to his arrest.
Law enforcement officials confirmed Tuesday that during the evacuation process a second gun was found, though it continued to be stated the most recent arrest was “an unrelated incident.”
The City did not confirm Powell was the same person referenced a day earlier.
