Driver in Jeep crash battling serious injuries

ALBANY, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Oregon State Police are continuing an investigation Friday into what may have caused the driver of a Jeep to momentarily drive off a highway and over-correct into a logging truck.

Around 12:30 p.m. Thursday, the Jeep Cherokee — driven by 21-year-old Albany resident Ashley Ross — was heading west on Highway 20 near milepost 2 when it collided with the truck’s real axle, according to OSP.

Firefighters pulled Ross from the vehicle, and an air ambulance transported her to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the log truck was unhurt.
