PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Two women face multiple charges related to the alleged sex-trafficking of a 17-year-old girl.
Erica Dana Lummus, 23, and Italia Angelique Porter, 24, were served a federal grand jury indictment following an investigation by the Beaverton Police Department.
The 17-year-old girl, who was missing from Bakersfield Calif. since January 2014, was found May 23rd after police followed Lummus to a hotel, where she was engaging in prostitution. After apprehending Lummus, detectives found the girl.
Evidence from that scene led detectives to believe Lummus and her associate, Porter, were engaging in sex trafficking.
Lummus, who is from Molalla, was arrested in Portland June 1 and Porter, who is from Vancouver, Wash. was arrested in Portland June 4.
A protective custody warrant from Bakersfield, Calif. was out for the 17-year-old girl.
