MEACHAM, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Oregon State Police identified an elderly woman Friday killed in an off-road crash near Meacham one day earlier.

OSP confirmed that 76-year-old Barbara May Nash was the victim of the single-vehicle Interstate 84 wreck.

According to OSP Sgt. Sterling Hall, Nash was traveling east on I-84 around 1:30 p.m. when her 2004 Chevy Trailblazer was seen drifting onto the right shoulder and into gravel. Hall estimated the SUV traveled more than 400 feet before going up an embankment and onto a guardrail.

Troopers are still investigating how the crash may have occurred.
