ORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Ottie Binschus was “a routine guy,” his daughter said. “He ate at the same restaurants. He didn’t cook.”
But Mallissia Binchus-Lucas believes something is wrong. She hasn’t seen her 60-year-old retired father in about a month, and she said he would never leave for this long without telling someone.
She even called morgues.
“I asked if there was any John Does that fit the description and they didnt have any John Does at the time,” she told KOIN 6 News.
She created a Facebook page to get the word out, partly because she feels the police aren’t doing enough.
“They say that there’s nothing they can do,” she said.
Investigators told KOIN 6 News the case is being actively worked, but there is no sign of foul play.
Ottie’s neighor Carl Bowles believes differently. He told KOIN 6 News he and other neighbors saw a woman staying at the Binschus house, but no one has been able to talk to her.
“She ran out and ran down the way, and the policemen tried to get her but she got away,” Bowles said.
A television remains on inside Binschus’ house, only adding to the mystery.
“I think it’s foul play,” Bowles said.
“Somebody knows where my dad is,” Mallissia said. “People just don’t disappear.”
