ALBANY, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Angela Stephenson was working toward her goal of becoming a paralegal so she could support her three young children.
She was making a lot of progress, her family said, when she was shot to death in her home earlier this week.
Angie, as her family called her, was found by her 8-year-old son. She was 36.
Her family doesn’t know if the attack was random or may have been done by someone she knew.
“Just the fact that she’s gone is extremely confusing and really hard to deal with,” said her brother, Eric Stephenson. “Never going to get her back.”
A few days before she was killed, another Albany woman was sexually assaulted. Police have identified a person of interest in that case, but haven’t said if they believe there’s any connection to Stephenson’s murder.
The Stephenson family hopes someone provides information to investigators to help solve this crime.
