PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — With the series tied 3-3, the Portland Winterhawks lost Game 7 of the Western Hockey League championship series against the Edmonton Oil Kings at Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Portland Monday night.

The Winterhawks lost with a final score of 2-4. The team managed to force a Game 7 after winning in overtime on Sunday.

Though the Winterhawks outshot the Oil Kings 34-33, they couldn’t manage to get more in the net than the Oil Kings.

The loss Monday means the end of the Winterhawks’ season.
