PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Portland police responded to two separate areas on the report of gunshots fired Monday evening.

Officers said they responded to Peninsula Park located at 700 N. Rosa Park Way just after 7 p.m. on the report of gunshots heard and several African American men seen running through the park.

Evidence of gunfire was found on the eastside of the park, but no victims or suspects were located, police said.

About 20 minutes later at 7:21 p.m., officers said they responded to the 4000 block of NE 13th Avenue on the report of multiple gunshots heard in the area.

Again, police said they located evidence of gunfire but did not locate any victims or suspects.

Authorities said both incidents appear to be gang-related. The Gang Enforcement Team is responding to investigate.

Police said it is not known at this time whether the two incidents are related to each other.
