WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Police are asking the public for help in finding two flags that were stolen from a World War II memorial site in Washington County last month.

The flags went missing from the Oregon Chapter of the 10th Mountain Division Veterans memorial site located along eastbound Highway 26 near milepost 54 late last month, police said.

The first missing flag is a U.S. flag that was flown above the capitol dome in Washington, D.C., and the other is a flag from the U.S. Army’s 10th Mountain Division.

Anyone who has information regarding the theft of these flags is asked to call the Washington County Sheriff’s Office at 503.629.0111.
