SALEM, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Police in Marion County said they are looking for a man who flashed a woman Monday night near Sunnyview Road NE in Salem.

The woman told police she was chased by a man who had exposed himself and began masturbating in her presence around 10:30 p.m.

Police said the woman first noticed the man when she passed him in the 2200 block of Lancaster Drive NE. The victim stated the man mumbled something to her, and when she turned around, he had his head covered, his genitals exposed and was masturbating.

The woman said the man only stopped chasing her after she stepped out into traffic and began calling 911.

The flasher was described as a white man, wearing a dark jacket, blue jeans and a winter ski hat that converted into a mask. The victim said the man was average build and 5 feet, 11 inches to 6 feet tall.

Portland Police Sgt. Peter Simpson said there is a chance the flasher could be the same man who was exposing himself in NE Portland neighborhoods in February.

“Since our guy has never been identified, I suppose there is always a chance,” said Simpson.

Police asked anyone with information about the man or incident to contact the Marion County Sheriff’s Office at 503.588.5032.
