PPB: Pedestrian’s injuries ‘not life threatening’

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — A pedestrian accident in Southeast Portland left one man with serious injuries Tuesday morning, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

Police say the man, 41-year-old Michael Meyers, was transported to a Portland hospital for treatment after being hit by a vehicle on Southeast Division Street at 113th Avenue. The injuries are considered non-life threatening.

Meyers was struck by a 1989 Honda Accord around 4:20 a.m. while pushing a shopping cart in the Division roadway, according to PPB.

The driver, who showed no signs of impairment, cooperated fully with investigators and was not cited. The crash remains under investigation.

Traffic on Division Street was blocked in both directions until 5:45 a.m.
