PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Oregon City Officer Robert Libke’s name was added to the memorial for fallen officers in the state in a ceremony that Gov. Kitzhaber presided.
Libke was killed in November 2013 by Lawrence Cambra. The 88-year-old man set his house on fire and ambushed Libke as he responded to the scene.
The memorial honors 178 officers killed in the line of duty since the 1880s. The name of a Jackson County deputy who was slain in 1917 was also added at the ceremony.
Libke’s wife and baby daughter – who he never got a chance to meet — were at the ceremony.
