CROOKED RIVER RANCH, Ore. (KOIN 6) — A missing fisherman and an injured hiker were both found safely Friday morning in central Oregon.

One of the men, 86-year-old Don Sorenson, was last seen around 5:30 p.m. Thursday fishing in the southwest area of the Wickiup Reservoir in a motorboat.

A Deschutes County ground search team found a boat drifting toward the shoreline around 6:30 a.m. Friday matching the description of Sorenson’s. Sorenson was found to be in the boat told search crews he had tied the craft to a floating buoy once it got dark.

Sorenson is considered to be in good condition.

The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office was also involved in the search for an injured hiker, 22-year-old Nick Inman. Inman told crews he was fishing with friends in Deschutes River Canyon when he fell off a rock and hurt his right leg.

Rescue teams managed to transport Inman about 1,000 feet across rugged terrain to safety.
