Eight-year veteran deputy Derrick Ramseyer and cadet Brianna Luna-Garcia, 20, both sustained minor injuries but are recovering, MCSO said Monday.

The crash occurred on Interstate 5 Sunday morning during a high-speed chase north of Salem.

Oregon State Police troopers say the northbound SUV lost control on the wet pavement and crossed through the grassy median before hitting a concrete wall and stopping on the southbound shoulder of the freeway.

There was standing water on the roadway at the time.
