PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Preliminary information gathered at the scene of a shooting in North Portland on Monday indicated it was gang related, police said.
Alejandro Ray Vance Jr., 23, was arrested and charged with unlawful use of a weapon after shots were fired in the area of North Killingsworth Street and Minnesota Avenue around 5:30 p.m.
Police on scene found evidence of gunfire that included two vehicles that had been hit by bullets, a handgun they believe was used in the shoooting.
Business owner Michael Shillingford shared surveillance video with police and KOIN 6 News that captured some of the shooting.
“I was doing some landscaping on the patio for the fish and chips shop, and I looked up and saw a guy with a gun, so i turned to my crew and told them get behind the food cart,” said Shillingford.
The Gang Enforcement Team responded to begin a shooting investigation.
Vance is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday.
