HILLSBORO, Ore. (KOIN) — Hillsboro Police said they have found no threat or weapon after Glencoe High School was put on lockdown Wednesday afternoon.

Hillsboro Police spokesman Lt. Mike Rouches said the school called police after receiving a third hand report from a  student that another student may have a gun.

The school was on lockdown for about two hours and was lifted around 3:45 p.m., Rouches said.

According to Rouches, no threat was ever made and the lockdown was initiated based on a rumor.
