HILLSBORO, Ore. (AP) – A woman who had sex with her Sherwood High School student was sentenced to 30 days in custody.

Denise Keesee, 38, pleaded guilty to sexually abusing the 16-year-old and cried through her sentencing hearing yesterday in Washington County.

Keesee is married to a Sherwood police officer who was the school resource officer.

He was placed on leave while State Police investigated accusations that he harassed his wife’s accuser, but no charges were laid against him.

Keesee, who resigned from her job as an algebra teacher in May 2013, was arraigned in June 2013 when accusations she had sex with two students between 2006 and 2012 first surfaced.

Keesee also formerly worked with a program for at-risk teens called “Reconnecting Youth” and coached a girls soccer team.

The victims, who are now adults, told detectives she would text them, take them on dates, and have sex with them at her house or theirs.

The relationships lasted several years, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said.

Keesee allegedly met at least one victim through the “Reconnecting Youth” program.
