2 teens ID’d for throwing cinder block off overpass

CRESSWELL, Ore. (KOIN) –Two teens, aged 16 and 17, have been identified after allegedly throwing a cinder block off an Interstate-5 overpass near Cresswell April 13 that injured one woman.

On April 13, a cinder block went through the windshield of a Toyota Camry, striking and injuring 30-year-old Tiffany Becker. She is expected to recover.

Public calls to  Oregon State Police helped identify the two teens, who were both located at their respective homes.

The car, driven by 28-year-old Michael Becker, was traveling in the northbound right lane around 4:30 a.m. when the block fell from the E. Oregon Avenue overpass in Cresswell.

Following the investigation, OSP and the Lane County District Attorney’s Office will determine whether the teens will be charged.

Troopers said they received information that four unidentified persons, two on bicycles and two on skateboards, were in the area around the time of the incident.
