PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A driver was arrested and charged with second-degree assault after allegedly hitting a bicyclist on purpose Thursday.
The driver, Celine Julia Geday, was driving east on Jackson and stopped at a red light at Broadway, police said. The bicyclist, Brian Lee Groce, rode up next to her and told her for a second time she’d almost hit him, he told police.
He said he rode up to her car before and said the same thing, but she just honked her horn, he said.
When the light turned green, both the car and the biker began to cross Broadway when Geday allegedly swerved and intentionally hit Groce. He fell and she stopped her car.
Groce, 47, suffered only minor injuries.
Geday, 29, was arrested. She was arraigned on Friday.
