PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 24-year-old bicyclist remains in critical condition after hitting a car in Northeast Portland Thursday night.

Ryan Egge cut through a convenience store parking lot at Cully and Killingsworth and rode into a Dodge Dart driven by a 64-year-old woman.

He was not wearing a helmet and suffered a significant injury, but officials said he is expected to recover.

The driver of the Dodge was not speeding nor impaired, authorities said.

The investigation continues and tickets may be issued at a later time.
