Traffic stop leads to arrest of Portland man, seizure of marijuana

NORTH POWDER, Ore. (KOIN) — A Portland resident was arrested during a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon after police discovered marijuana inside his rented car.

Oregon State Police (OSP) said they stopped Jesus Macias, 35, along Interstate 84 near North Powder around 12:30 p.m. for speeding when they discovered approximately 3 pounds of marijuana inside his rented 2013 Ford Fusion.

Macias was taken into custody and is in the Union County Jail for unlawful possession, distribution and manufacture of a controlled substance.

OSP Drug Enforcement Section is continuing the investigation.
