Molalla woman now missing for 15 days, search continues

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Crews were out again on Tuesday looking for a Molalla women who has been missing since March 13.

Janice Lynn Ernest, 62, suffers from bipolar disorder and officials said she may not be taking her medication.

The missing person report was made March 16.

Police found Ernest’s car unoccupied on Sunday and believe she may have wandered into the forest near where the vehicle was discovered.

Ernest is 5-feet-4, 125 pounds with sandy brown hair and blue eyes. The Oregon license plate on her Buick is 969BWX.
Authorities said she is likely confused and disoriented.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Molalla Police Department at 503.655.8211.

Search and Rescue coordinators have been working with the Oregon Army National Guard, Pacific Northwest Search and Rescue, Portland Mountain Rescue, Washington County and Marion County resources to aid in the search.

Searchers said they plan to work until dark on Tuesday and resume operations on Wednesday.
