Police recover body from Willamette River

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A body was recovered from the Willamette River on Monday afternoon.

The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office River Patrol deputies said they responded to a report of a body seen in the Willamette River near the east bank north of the Steel Bridge around 2:15 p.m.

Police said river patrol units recovered the body of a deceased man around 2:20 p.m.

The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office detectives are handling the investigation and have yet to release the name of the victim, pending identification and notification of family.

No further details were available.
