State hopes to reunite owner with watch, photo

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – State workers, who deal with TSA seized property from Portland International Airport, could not bring themselves to sell a pocket watch that contains a family photo and are asking the public for help in locating the owner.

State employees said the photograph inside the pocket watch shows a man wearing a baseball cap and sitting with two children in his arms.

The Oregon Department of Administrative Services received the pocket watch with the photograph inside about three months ago.

The state agency said it gets tons of property from TSA that they then sell. Most items like a Swiss army knife are too generic to get to the owner, but state workers believe this particular pocket watch may have special meaning to someone.

There are some specific markings on the pocket watch that the state wants to keep hidden in order for someone to step forward and identify it as theirs.

The state has already turned to social media with no luck, so they reached out to KOIN 6 News for help.
