MEDFORD, Ore. (KOIN) — One man in Medford, Ore. just won’t let anything in life get him down.
Robert Day lost everything when is home burned down while he was out fishing Sunday, March 16, but the thing he will remember is the size of the fish he caught, KOBI reports.
“I caught a steel head about 36 inches long, the biggest one I have ever caught,” he said.
“That’s the good thing that happened today.”
As Day pulled his boat out of the water, a neighbor called him to report flames shooting several feet into the air from his house.
He called 9-1-1, but by the time fire crews arrived, the house was fully engulfed in flame.
All of Day’s belongings were destroyed, but his dog made it out safely — another thing he sees in a positive light.
