PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A head-on crash in the early hours of Friday along I-82 near Hermiston left one driver dead and the other driver airlifted to a Portland hospital.
Shortly before 1:30 a.m., a Cadillac driven by Alicia Breckheimer was going west on the eastbound side of I-82 near milepost 4, Oregon State Police officials said, when she slammed into a Chrysler driven by Robert Henry Baker.
Baker, 66, died at the scene.
Breckheimer was pulled out of the car by firefighters and rushed first to a Hermiston hospital. The 31-year-old woman was then airlifted to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland.
Authorities said both drivers were wearing safety belts. Alcohol is being looked as a possible factor in the crash, OSP said.
