Woodburn bank robbed at gunpoint

WOODBURN, Ore. (KOIN) – An armed robbery at a Woodburn bank forced a lockdown of nearby schools Tuesday afternoon.

The robbery occurred just before 12:30 p.m. at MAPS Credit Union, located at 1860 Newberg Hwy. The suspect, wearing a mask and carrying a gun, took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot towards The Estates on Broughton Way. No one was hurt.

Woodburn police said the school lockdown lasted through 1:30 p.m. as officers searched the area.

Surveillance photos of the man were released. He is described as white and wearing dark clothing.
