PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A woman accused of breaking into the homes of two elderly women, ages 90 and 89, and swiping their purses is facing 58 counts.
Tiffany Denise Smith, 33, was indicted by a Multnomah County grand jury Feb. 4 on charges of robbery, burglary and identity theft.
According to Portland police, on Jan. 7, Smith strong-armed her way into an 89-year-old woman’s home in the 2100 block of SE 148th Place. She grabbed the victim’s purse and threw her to the ground. Investigators discovered that Smith had conducted a similar robbery in December 2013, this time with a 90-year-old victim.
The investigation further revealed that Smith had stolen purses from multiple victims in order to obtain their personal information, Portland police said. She was arrested on Jan. 14.
Meanwhile, Smith is also facing prostitution charges out of Clackamas County after she was allegedly caught having sex with a former Oregon State Police detective on Aug. 5, 2013, in some bushes in the Southgate neighborhood. Fifty-year-old Richard Narvaez, a former Tribal Gaming detective and 23-year veteran of OSP, submitted his resignation later that month.
Meanwhile, Smith remains lodged in the Multnomah County Jail awaiting trial.
