Police: Felon had guns, body armor in mobile home

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Officers arrested a convicted felon Wednesday afternoon after finding a gun safe in his mobile home that contained firearms, ammunition and body armor.

Portland police discovered the safe when they responded to a report that 40-year-old Leroy Sylvester Long was threatening his brother with a gun at the Fox Run Mobile Home Park at 9000 NE Martin Luther King Jr., Blvd.

Officers got a search warrant for the safe, opened it, and found 10 firearms inside, along with the ammo and body armor.

Long was charged with 21 weapons-related charges, including felon in possession of a firearm.

He was lodged in the Multnomah County Jail and could face possible federal charges, Portland police said.
