SALEM, Ore. (AP) — The Oregon secretary of state’s office has reset all passwords for its campaign finance and business registry websites after they were hacked.

The sites are still down, but the agency told users in an email Thursday that they’ll have to pick new passwords once the systems come back online.

People who use the same password for other services were advised to change those passwords as well.

The agency says that banking information for political committees does not appear to have been compromised and that bank account numbers are encrypted.

But users were advised of steps they can take to monitor their credit and identity.

It’s unclear when the online elections and business systems will come back online. Officials say the incident has been reported to law enforcement.
