Suspect wanted in NE Portland teen murder

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Police are searching for a 23-year-old man in the gang-related shooting death of an 18-year-old in March of last year in Northeast Portland’s Cully neighborhood.

Lonnell Demarcus George is wanted in the March 27, 2013, killing of Edward Jewell Paden Jr. Paden was shot to death in broad daylight at a gas station at Northeast 60th Avenue and Killingsworth Street. A murder warrant has been issued for his arrest.

George has a history of weapon-related arrests and gang activity, Portland police said. He is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees him should call 911.

Portland police did not confirm any details regarding why George is suspected in the shooting. At the time, there was concern from law enforcement that the shooting would spark further gang violence in the neighborhood.
